Illegal Issues of Postage Stamps

Dear Sir/Madam,

Posta Uganda, the designated operator of UGANDA, wishes to inform the UPU member countries of the following:
"Posta Uganda has discovered with regret that illegal stamp issues in the name of Uganda are being sold on two websites based in Eastern Europe.

"Posta Uganda has compared and cross-checked these stamps against its known stocks in the Stamp Supply Centre and Stamp Bureau, and it is patently clear that they did not originate from Posta Uganda. In addition, the US dollar rates at which the stamps are being sold on the websites are far above their face value in Ugandan shillings.

"In accordance with subsections 7.2 and 7.4 of recommendation C 26/2008 of the 24th UPU Congress (Philatelic Code of Ethics for the use of UPU member countries), Posta Uganda wishes to denounce these illegal stamp issues in the strongest possible terms."
