First of all, many thank to those of you who have joined recently our organization. Please see below the results of our efforts in order to improve and expand our offer and this site. Some of our members have actively contributed, so we would like to express our gratitude for their valuable help.
PWO is constantly growing
The Philatelic Webmasters Organization counts 353 members, who designed more then 380 philatelic sites. Many thanks to our member Rodolphe Hipp from France we have cleaned up a lot our Members List.
FIP didn't answer our new collaboration proposal
We have contacted twice, in 2009, Mr. Anthony Virvilis, the new Chairman of the Litterature Commision of the FIP, and we have renewed our proposal for collaboration. We proposed to share our experience collected during the EFIRO event and to search together for new ways of stimulating the philatelic webmastering. He answered the first e-mail and proposed a personal meeting at an exhibition (where we weren't present). We answered by informing him about our imposibility to participate in this discussion and we made constructive proposals for the future, he has never answered since.
Common event of the PWO and of the Association Internationale des Journalistes Philatéliques (AIJP)
We organized a common Philatelic Webmastering event at the international philatelic exhibition EFIRO 2008 in Bucharest, Romania.
PWO members awarded by prestigious philatelic organizations
Eight of our members (presenting nine sites) were awarded by the FIP,
and one of members was awarded by the French Philatelic Academy. Among
the awarded sites there is also the site you are just visiting, that
of the Philatelic Webmasters Organization.
|We ask all our members to display the logo (shown on the left) on their sites, in a visible place (preferable on the front page of their sites), and to link it to: http://www.pwmo.org. TIA.|
Fight Against Illegal Stamps
The PWO continues its efforts in the fight against the illegal stamps. For this reason a fully subsite of the PWO main site is dedicated to this action. We publish on it the UPU Circulars referring to illegal issues. For more information please visit the PWO "Illegal Stamps" subsite.
Note. In August 2009 we were informed that two of our members, Mr. Bourgineau Jean, from Taillandiers philatélie, in France, and Mr. Settimo Gianni, Italy, sell illegal stamps on their websites. We have immediately checked their sites and we have established that information we have got was correct. In compliance with the Art. 19 of the PWO Statutes we have immediately expelled Mr. Bourgineau Jean and Mr. Settimo Gianni from the PWO. We apologize for this regrettable incident and we will reinforce in the future our control of the members' web sites.
Stay tuned and visit the PWO site often!
With friendly greetings,
PWO President and Founder
